Children are more open-minded than we expect them to be. When the hear, "I fell in love with a woman", they're likely to say, "Well, everybody needs to love somebody, and it's really nobody else's business who you love. But having a gay grandma or a gay uncle makes it a little easier for a child growing up with ambivalent feelings to sort out how to fall in love.
