Spirit kept putting pressure on me. I kept putting it off, looking for technological ways to serve my own need to make and be useful despite the illness of my body.

Instead, finally, the spirits of Wisdom and of Turtle Island (the North American continent) spoke up and said plainly (and repeatedly):

"Anigumi."

I did not listen.

See, as near as I can tell, the anigumi is the priest of a Native tribe which is not in my direct bloodline (my family does have some Native blood a few generations back, but it's Miami from the Indiana region). I wouldn't understand why they kept saying it. But finally, I was told outright, "You're ignoring your own call."

And when I asked? "Anigumi!"

So I'm going to find out what this means. So far my Google research is turning up nothing but characters from anime, but that doesn't mean much since I'm currently online through a content-filtered connection. I'll try again later, through a less restricted connection.

...And in related/unrelated news, I know my own gender now. I know it clearly.
Both male and female, together.

When I looked it up, two answers appeared. So I consulted my spirit, asking how I felt.
With "androgyne" my spirit withered. With "two spirit" it surged.

I am two spirit. And I suppose I will learn about anigumi. I am told they (the elders and teachers of it) will guide me.

We will learn soon whether that is so.

The soul of aikido is release from violence.

Violence is survival-focused response to suffering, whether expressed through the body, mind, or soul; it typically originates in physical suffering.

The fastest release from suffering is death; the best is kindness. This is aikido at its purest.

(Written by the seat of my pants, with minimal editing. Let's see if I can finish this, or only get partway into it. Inspired by [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's poem "Simple as a Glass of Chocolate" and the comments below it, as well as recent personal events.)

T'e-ma Huollo was a creature of another world,
Walking ethereally through ours. Her heart
Echoed with the songs of ages, her mind
Was filled with thoughts of wisdom
Fully distilled.

She looked like beauty itself,
Youth and age and form mixed all together
As in the reflection one sees
In the divination well.

Upon her brow was a horn,
Curved, with a slight twist.
Her hands and feet were like no
Living creature on Earth, formed
With horn upon the ends, but not hooves.
Fingers and toes bent delicately
To grasp their respective tasks.

And when she spoke, it felt like
The songs of the Universe
Echoed around the listener,
Leaving impressions of emotion
That colored her words.

But this is not what made her so alien.

It was simply that the world she walked
Did not know her, did not know itself
In her presence, for her power
Was alien spirit made flesh.

For a very long time in this Realm of spirit, the gods considered the relationship of intelligent beings to themselves. The spirits also considered this, though by a different pattern. Different kinds of workers arose among humans as a result, as various humans were called to certain paths or given certain gifts. Humans then gave names to these different workers.

When the gods called, they gained a priest.
When the spirits called, they gained a shaman.
When knowledge was researched and used properly, a magus or alchemist precipitated.
When the mind awakened, a seer (psychic or intuitive in modern parlance) opened their eyes.
When familial lines and natural lore came together, a witch was found at the crossing.

These are different types of work: gods, spirits, spells and alchemy, mind, mind and lore.
However, each of these different jobs has a specific set of relationships.

It is time on Earth that we now meet new awakened persons. The old relationships are good, but they are not complete without this one. As equals we shall meet, and as equals we shall part, each relationship in balance to the others, each job in balance to the others. Instead of being only Avatars and Messiahs, we shall be balance-workers, no more or less powerful and special than the others.

As it should be.

Summary
By call: Priest (gods), shaman (spirits), seer/psychic (personal ability), magus (spells and mysteries), alchemist (chemistry and natural energies), witch (ability and natural lore), empowered (manifestation).
By relationship: Servant (the shaman serves a community, the priest serves one or several gods or major spirits), Partner (empowered/awakened can partner with anyone but usually choose beings philosophically aligned with them), Independent (psychics, usually), Master (magus); witch could take any role.
